Niki Pilkington

Niki Pilkington is from Wales, UK. She is 22  years old artist. Her works are really similar to the Marynn’s works. The difference is probably in shadows and Niki Pilkington usually adds some 3D elements to the pictures. I really like it because it has interesting visual.

Here is her Facebook page.

Kayleigh O’Connor

Kayleigh O’Connor is one of the craziest nail art creators. She is good at nail art. “The 24-year old student from Birmingham, spends hours on each design and some of the ones in her portfolio include Batman, Snow White, Dr Who, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Austin Powers and Sesame Street fave Oscar The Grouch to name but a few!

She explains that she sees her nail art as temporary tattoos and is grateful for the platform to express her fandoms, exclaiming that otherwise she would probably be “covered” in tattoos. “

I don’t think that drawing on the nails is Art. I think that Art is more difficult work than just drawing a small picture on the nails. However, I would say that some of the nail makers are artists and their works are Art.

So, I would say that Kayleigh O’Connor’s nails work is definitely a type of art. It is really hard to draw on such a small space especially detailed pictures. She is very good at it. She is making not just nails, but art with details, some form, and even emotions. For example, the art nails with Snow White. When I look at the picture of Snow White I see that she was a protagonist (positive character) because she doesn’t have any sharp details. I also like that Kayleigh O’Connor drew her profile because the picture became more interesting and original. You can also see that the second figure (stepmother) is an antagonist (negative character) because the picture is all kind of sharp which is associated to the negative things.

Actually I would never make the nails like Kayleigh O’Connor is making because it is really uncomfortable to wear them and it is going to be ruined really quickly.

Marynn

Marynn is an pencil illustration. She was born in in Nantes, France. She is 20 years old. That’s all what I found about her, but you can read more here.

I love her Art! She compares the realistic drawing with imagination. I also like the emotions of Marynn’s characters. For example, the girl with a “juice”. She has a really realistic face, but the crown is definitely doesn’t look realistic. The girl looks like she is trying to look older. However, the crown, dress, and blush on her cheeks show us the opposite side.

I hope that you like Marynn’s works :D  Write in the comments all what you want to share with us!

Kris Lewis

Kris Lewis is an American contemporary realist. Was born in 1978, Jackson Township, New Jersey. His work were in the publications Juxtapoz and Modern Painters. He is usually using oil paints.

I like Kris Lewis’s Art because he has some emotions in his works; he draws all shadows and glare, so the picture looks realistic. He is also has pretty a lot of details. I like to look on the pictures and find something new in the pictures (details, emotions, or ideas). He has that kind of pictures. When I look on his Art I find some new emotions. It recharges me and gives different emotions.

I hope that you like his Art as much as me.

Agnes Cecile

Agnes Cecile was born in 1991 in Rome. This is everything that I could find about her. That is sad because I want to know more about her. However, you can watch a video of Agnes Cecilie drawing on youtube.

I really like her works because I can really feel the
emotions as I look at the pictures. She explores ideas in her drawings, as some of my most of my favourite artists due. For example, the girl with ropes looks like she wants to play with you, but her face also looks tired and wise. I thought about the meaning of this picture, but I still don’t know how to explain my thoughts. I have associated it with peace.

I really like her work with colors. She is using a lot of colors, so the picture looks realistic. I want to work with colors as well as her. I also like the expressed emotions on the faces of the people. It is hard enough just to draw the picture, but drawing it with deep emotions is even harder; only by looking into her eyes you can understand the nature of the person. I really want to improve my skills on the same level as Agnes Cecile. I would say that even every color drop looks perfect on her pictures.

Write in the comments what you think about this picture or about Agnes Cecile in general. I am waiting for your comments.

Banksy

Banksy is an England-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter. He was born in Bristol. His art is clearly the work of a passionate individual. He has affected the art world from Australia to the US and nearly everywhere in between.

He is a really good street artist. I really like his works. I couldn’t find a lot of information, though, because he is secretive. We actually don’t even know his real name, but we can find his works on the streets which are really good! He usually has idea or many ideas in his Art. He is really good at drawing shadows. So, the pictures look realistic.

Let’s discuss the picture called “Grey ghost”. You can see a boy that is drawing beautiful flowers and a man with face in a shadow that is painting the
flowers in a grey color. I chose this picture not just because of the idea, but because of the shadows and realistic way of drawing (the picture looks real). It is really hard to draw shadows in a way that picture looks realistic. However, he does a terrific job.

This picture recalls the Soviet Union to me, and a time when people couldn’t stand out. The government (ghost) destroyed everything and everyone who wanted to stand out or who already did. Of course, that is just my interpretation.

What do u think about his works or about Banksy in general? Have you already heard about him? Write in the comments everything that you want to share with us. :D

Andy Warhol

You probably already know this artist, but I am still going to tell you about him. So, ladies and gentlemen: Andy Warhol. He was an American artist who was a leader of the pop art movement. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement. He was born on August 6, 1928 and died on February 22, 1987.

Andy Warhol is a really important artist. Even as a young boy, Warhol liked to draw, color, and cut and paste pictures. His mother, who was also artistic, would encourage him by giving him a chocolate bar every time he finished a page in his coloring book. During high school, Warhol took art classes both at school and at the Carnegie Museum.

Warhol discovered the blotted-line technique during college. The technique required Warhol to tape two pieces of blank paper together and then draw in ink on one page. Before the ink dried, he would press the two pieces of paper together. The result was a picture with irregular lines that he would color in with watercolor.

Around 1960, Warhol had decided to make a name for himself in pop art. Pop art was a new style of art that began in England in the mid-1950s and consisted of realistic renditions of popular, everyday items. Warhol turned away from the blotted-line technique and chose to use paint and canvas but at first he had some trouble deciding what to paint.

However, I can’t say that I really like his works. I didn’t learn anything new from them, though I like his works as pictures. I don’t like them as much as other artist because I think that he doesn’t have a lot of ideas in his works, and sometimes he doesn’t have any meaning at all.

For example, take the picture with Marilyn Monroe. It is just a beautiful picture without any ideas on it. But the Campbell’s tomato soup can has a meaning. “He drew the real Campbell’s can that produced in America by Campbell Soup Company. The company was started in 1869 by Joseph A. Campbell. Campbell Soup became one of the largest food companies in the world under the leadership of William Beverly Murphy. Today, Campbell’s Soup Company, with its famous red and white label, remains a basic in the kitchen as well as American culture.” So, maybe Andy Warhol just wanted to show the part of the American culture by this can..

Write me in the comments your opinion about Andy Warhol and his works.
Here you can buy some posters and look at his works.

Marco Mazzoni

Marco Mazzoni is a really good Italian artist. I didn’t get a a lot of information about him. I just know that he was born in Apr 24th, 1981.

He often chooses not to paint the eyes, because he thinks they are a distraction and with eyes. So, the faces would then become portraiture, which he emphatically avoids, preferring to present to the viewer a ‘still life’ image, capturing a ‘moment when a woman takes control of all, in harmony with nature’.

I like the way Marco Mazzoni draws the shadows and the colors that he uses. I also like the combination of women and animals or flowers. The faces and animals are linked by emotions. For example, in the painting of the screaming face of woman with ravens on the top, the emotions of the woman seem to fit with the ravens. Ravens are often used in horror stories and creepy poems. So, nowadays the raven is not a really nice sign. Also, I would say that she look like Medusa, but with ravens instead of snakes.

After viewing his works I have started to pick colors more thoroughly, and I’ve even started considering using colors for shadows. Maybe you will take something from his works too!

Louis Lander Deacon

Louis Lander Deacon is a 19 year old photographer based in London. I like Louis Lander’s works a lot because you can see emotions and any ideas on them.

For example, the “flying up woman.” It looks like gravity has just gone and she is holding the window to keep from flying away.
This picture looks like a dream. Maybe the author meant that our dreams are taking us up.

Or take the picture with color and people. I think this picture means to show what’s in the people’s minds.  For me the color means our hidden wishes or dreams. The people in the boring cloth colored into pink, blue and purple. I
think that it means that our wishes
and dreams color our boring lives into interesting, vibrant and bright colors.

It is interesting to look at his works and think about their meanings. Write your opinion about these pictures in the comments! Dream big...

Sylvia Ji

Another really good artist is Sylvia Ji. A lot of people know her famous skeleton women. She was born in 1982, a native of San Francisco.
Some of her painting is the symbolic reflections of herself. She currently resides in Southern California.

I like her works because it is interesting to look at the beautiful women with scary “makeup”. I like how she combines beauty and fear. I like the emotions on the women’s faces (horror or evil). For me, the meaning of her works is that having a beautiful or pretty face doesn’t mean that people are beautiful inside.

For example, look at the woman in the national dress with a pretty face and unfriendly eyes. Maybe the signs on her face mean something. Let’s think about it. The broken heart and tears could mean that her boyfriend betrayed her or something and she cried a lot because of it. The spider web could mean that she is like an insect in the web. Trapped.

Ryan Berkley

My second favorite artist is Ryan Berkley. Ryan started drawing animal portraits in April of 2006 for the first Crafty Wonderland art and craft show in Portland.

I like the comparison of people and animals. It is funny to compare the animals and people and to think about reason of choosing animals for the different kinds of people. This is because people and animals have very similar emotions, behavior and looks. I also like the details of Ryan Berkley’s works. For example, the scar on the tiger’s face. It helps me to understand that character better. I think that he is really brave and wise. What can you say about him?
Here you are some links for Ryan Berkley’s profile.

Lora Zombie

I am going to present to you my favourite artist: Lora Zombie. She was born in Russia in 1990. Her first serious works were similar to the works of Jamie Hewlett, the creator of the images for the group Gorillaz. She became popular really fast, and she had exhibitions in the USA, UK and Russia. You can view her work on her Facebook page.

First thing that I like in her works is the ideas. For example, the picture “hero time is gone”. To me the idea of this picture is that all heroes become old and unpopular. Children stop copying them and people begin to forget them.

Another idea that I really like is in the picture of red riding hood with a gun in her hands. This Little Red Riding Hood doesn’t look as helpless as in the story. Even the wolf looks frightened. I think that the idea is that even Red Riding Hood can be dangerous and strong.

I also like her manner of drawing (a lot of different colors, pretty a lot of details...). I like to call this kind of drawing style modern Art, because she is using very current ideas or details (for example: Converse on the Batman). I learned a lot from her works. For example, I started to add dripping paint and to think more about using deeper ideas for my pictures.
